I finally bit the bullet and ordered my wheels (ouch!!) R10's on the way (silver). If my girlfriend dumps me, at least I love my car.

Those will look great on your Alpine White car. Which tires are you going to go with? And what size rims?

Make sure the tire shop puts your tires on correctly! Two of my treads were going in the wrong direction. I have to take my car into the tire shop tomorrow to fix. On your Toyos, you will see "right" and "left" marked on the sidewalls of each tire. So, if you're checking the left side and look at your tires they should all say "left" on the sidewall.

And if she dumps you I can get sloppy seconds and ask her how the ride quality was in comparsion to both of our E60s.

Your car will look fantastic with those wheels! I too will be interested in what, if any, is the compromise vis a vis everyday ride quality.

I struggled with wheel choice and found it nice to finally make the plunge. I decided that most alternatives to the 166 would not look very good unless I went to 20", and I just wasn't willing to go that far.

You've got dual tip exhaust on your car anyway.
