He Guys,

I just got an ITG Foam Air filter from the tuning shop where I hang out...
They got them new and will be used manly on our Porsche and New Mini models (which we tune most of the time...)
I got one for free for the E60 to try out...

Do you guys now these filters? and what are your thoughts on these?

I will install the filter in 1 or 2 days time, so I'll let you know how it performs (if interested of course )

This is how mine looks:

The cost is different for each model, but for the E60 it is about $ 75,- US

This is what IT themselves say about their filers

Superior filtration
Our unique Tri-Foam® system with three layers of foam combined with the arresting stickiness of the dust retaining oil gives a high level of filtration to protect the engine from all containments brought in by the air.
More power
Performance is unaffected by very large quantities of dirt arrested in the filter and, long after ordinary filters have blocked up and reduced the engine power, loss of pressure in the Profilter airflow will be exceptionally low.
Longer life
In normal road use, a Profilter will last at least four times as long as the equivalent standard filter. Waste is reduced so Profilter helps the environment as well as the engine.
No cleaning
You will never have to clean a Profilter panel filter ? EVER

Had one on my VW... just be careful that it was not over "Oiled" or you could get a premature MAF failure.

Same goes for any replacement filter.

Can't really say if it helped or hurt the R32...

So this filter isn't really a higher flow filter like the BMC or K&N its just a better alternative to the oem filter? You will have to let us know if you feel any performance gains with it right away or notice any fuel mileage increases.

I had this brand in the CAI I had in my E36 M3. I know it's no real comparison but the filter did it's job. I believe what they say is that the filter doesn't lose air flow as it gets dirty like a traditional paper filter does. Made the CAI sound good too. Like someone else said be careful when you clean and re-oil the filter. The only time I had a CEL in that car was after a shop cleaned and oiled the filter and over oiled it. If I had known that this filter was available for the E60 I definitely would have bought one.

Too late for me, right now anyway. I already bought a BMC filter.

Just installed my ITG filter...It looks great (with the metallic mesh) fits like a glove and drives great...Sound improvement I noticed is manly a reinvorcement of the great BMW straight six...
The engine seems to pick up a bit better on low rev's, but as always...is it real or does your mind play tricks with you...

Will let you know about mpg improvement and so on...
