I have asked my dealer about this ad, and they said that the new 5, 6, and 7 can not have IPOD adapter retrofitted due to the idrive software. BMW still working on it. Is it right? or it just my dealer that.. :'(

It's really sad that such a great car has these technical problems - Satellite radio, blue tooth, etc. in MY 04. I guess all the people who say not to by the first model year.

my dealer here in Singapore gave a more technical reason:

the 5-er & 7-er run on a fibreoptic bus/network - so the kit from ipodyourbmw is not compatible.

they are investigating the possibility of hooking up an aux input for me - got the part numbers from HOBI on this forum. he also has the English installation instructions.

The AUX Input actually works. A couple problems might occur during the installation, like on mine and FlowerFreds... But in generall the AUX Input works. There is one espacially for the E60.
