iPod problems in my 525

Hello,
Anybobody out there that can help me? I have bought me a new iPod Touch with the 3.0 software and now it does not function at all in my car. With my four years old ipod everything is fine, but the storage is too small for me (thats why a bought me a new one).

I have asked my BMW dealer and they don't know anything about the problem (??) and have only the standard old cable with usb and sound stick
