120$? what programming are you referring to? If it's enabling the CD-Changer option you are off by about 180! generally the price rangers from 150-300 for enabling the CD-Changer. the mp3 retrofit is free with the proper bulletin. I would suggest doing the mp3 retrofit and then asking if they could just add on the CD-Changer retrofit as well
takes the same amount of time and the same things happen during the coding and most say ok to that.
to find the interface and all required bulletins check out my store @ www.aftermarketbulbsshop.com or search for ipod retrofit and you'll come across tons of posts here![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)

I have an 06 525i (4/05 build) with a single CD (plays MP3) and no NAV. (I do have the CDC prep though) Can somone with a similar configuration confirm if the BMW IPOD interface allows you to see the names of the songs on the iDrive screen? I've read some posts that seem to indicate that song names only show up on cars with NAV. thanks!

THERES ONE PROBLEM>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I just got the ipod adpater installed last week
here is the problem.
I just bought the 4th GEN NANO, the new one with a long screen which is curved on the edges.
that being said.
I pluged it in my newly purchased Ipod adapter which was purchased and installed at the dealer.
It did not start charging, it said "Accessory is not compatible with Ipod"
So I called BMW NA, they took 20 min to get me the correct answer, keep in mind, this is a $450 Ipod Accessory.
They advised me that the new Ipods, the one currently out on the market, use USB charging styles only.
the older ones are Firewire and USB. So all the devices that were charging the Ipods before, were using FIREWIRE.
So the issue is that now since the adapter from BMW uses FIREWIRE,it is now incompatible with the new Ipods.
the only way to get it to charge is either buy a new car. which has the USB charging in the center console which is (2007+) HAHAHAHA
or after 10 min or searching online, i found this, which is a solution, but not the one i wanted. but I guess i have to take what I can find....
Pasport Adapter
if there is any TSB or Updated Part numbers please chime in,

Yet again, another search would have helped.....
I have the iphone 3g, and gave me the same error message, saying its incompatible and will not work.
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry737187
I used this charging adapter so I can use my iphone 3g. I believe this also works with the nano, the 2nd gen Ipod touch, and all the new ipod's. (not sure about the shuffle)
So the BMW IPOD kit will work, but it will not charge unless you get this adapter.
Good luck.

Thx, nigxdoof,
I did the search, just not on e60forums![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
Darn, I really wanted to just get the cable, which does the switching, not some other adaptor. I really got frustrated with the tech support guy at BMW NA,
Because BMW's were the first to integrate ipods to the cars. and cant even keep up with the changes that the new ipods have.
Well they did change, it for the 07+, but didnt change it for the Ipod Adapter Kit, WTH....
So ill be getting that pasport adaptor today

Get the cablejive extender and you wont see that ugly adapter sitting around. I did that and made a dock for it.
