I do not know if this is a known issue with the iPod Kit on the E60's but whenever I shut the car off and restart it, the track seems to start playing from the beginning. However, if I am driving and switch the entertainment source, it picks up right where it felt off. Is this normal or is there something wrong?

Is the iPod suppose to keep playing when the car is shut off??? Wasn't this a major problem with this system. I when I got out of my car it was on track one and when I got back in it was on track 22!!! How do I fix this?

All this sounds strange to me. Maybe it depends on the the car charger kit you use. When I shut engine down, Ipod shuts down as well. When I restart, I have to push button (bottom center) on Ipod to restart. It starts on the song exactly where it left off.

Here is my setup

I have a Belkin auto kit that has an aux input built into it. having a 2007 with the charger port adjacent to the factory aux input (on the back of the center console), I plug a mini jack to mini jack cable from the factory aux input to the aux input on the belkin auto kit. I then run the single charge wire and plug into the bottom of the Ipod. This makes for as clean a set up as you can get with the poor location of the factory aux input. The cable is between the passenger seat and the console. I also have a proclip ipod mount on my lower console and the unit fits nicely out of the way and secure.

I think this is a "feature" on the 2nd gen ipod with video. I connect my ipod to my e60 via the dock connector cable (Extrememac's Roadshow) that connects to the AUX jack in the car. This ipod will continue to play either I shutdown the engine or unplug it from the dock connector. This does not happen to my previous ipod (ipod photo) which will stop playing as soon as the engine's shut down or if it's disconnected from the dock connector. Both ipods however, will stop playing when I unplug my headphone from the ipod's mini-stereo jack....

So if you're using the dock connector to connect your ipod to your car, make sure you press stop after you turn off your engine or you might find your ipod's battery drained of power the next time you want to use it outside your car; especially if you have the 2nd gen ipod with Video!

Guys,
This is not about iPod really, but it's about BMW iPod adapter for E60
bmw1986, what I meant by "normal" (quote in quote) is that when something wrong with the car and you bring it to dealer, they say that it's "normal".
I was teasing those stupid BMW SA (95% of SA population) who love using the word "normal"

Back to the issue, I hope this is fixed in Progman 25.
