Okay...the E60 has been out for about 3 years now (give or take)...how long does it take for them to introduce an iPod Interface...it's already out for several other models so why does it take forever to make one for our model?!? God knows there's certainly a market for it!!! Damn it!!!!
Phew!!! I feel better now. Sorry about that...just needed to vent after spending hours on the internet trying to figure out the best way to use my iPod with my 2006 530i. I've seen it all...the iCruze from Monster, the Harmon Kardon version, different FM Modulators, the ACME version (jk), and nothing would come close to an actual interface. I'm currently using the iTrip but the interference noise is starting to drive me crazy.
SOOOOOO, if you're reading this, BMW, get off your rockers and meet our consumer needs because in case you haven't noticed (or don't pay attention to cross-market, cross-product analysis), many BMW loyalists are also iPod users.

They don't care a damn about what we're whinning. They need to put it on the scale to see if it's profitable enough. That's what they care, and that's the fact to all manufacturers. We're just observers and whinners.

Do a search--there's been quite a few threads on this topic.
I had the aux input installed and hardwired my iPod:
Agreed. Keep in mind that even the iPod Connector, which has been available for some time for other BMW models, only allows you to select 1 of 5 playlists that you've named beginning with "BMW" so I gave up waiting, and my set up, while not ideal, works well for me.
You guys did see the Samsung announcement right? It states Bluetooth A2DP integration with the 5 series and complete iDrive control. Hopefully not with new hardware... Prolly need a firmware upgrade though.
Then all you have to do is wait for a bluetooth iPod. Guarantee that's next.
