Hey guys,

Thought I'd formalize the install instructions

The iPod interface, faceplate, my instructions as well as the mp3 bulletin (allows you to get mp3 retrofitted for fee by BMW) and official BMW install instructions (which are pretty much worthless) are also located at www.aftermarketbulbsshop.com

Enjoy!

correct E60 and E63 both share the same glovebox setup so it's the exact same parts and instructions.

Also will this work on early production e60's and if you don't have a dc changer will you have to have anything done by dealer?

If you install the interface, the CD-Changer has to be removed since it uses that connection to interface with the audio system. So it's either CD-Changer or iPod interface. I took out my CD-Changer and put in the ipod interface and added a 20GB iPod classic off of ebay for 60bucks, which I leave in the car. Haven't missed the CD-Changer since and it was definitely worth it.

If you don't have a CD-Changer already you might need to get it coded to enable the CD-Changer option as it uses the same commands as the CD-Changer. (around 250-300 at the stealership) I've seen both, cars that didn't come with CD-Changer and it worked and some where it didn't work. So it's a mystery until you actually try it.

The iPod switches off when the car goes into sleep mode and gets activated when the car "wakes up". It does start from the same track when you turn on the ignition. It starts the last track from the beginning so if you turn the car off in the middle of a track and the car goes to sleep it will start the last song over from the beginning.

Should work fine with any E60 that has MOST.
