hello all. I just purchased 2005 545i and wanted to install the ipod interface. I see the great pics here. I am confused regarding the mp3 retro fit vs just installing the interface...do I need to reprogram the car or does it have to be done by the dealer. Thanks

Not true. I had the iPod adapter installed in my 2004 545. I had no MP3 capability and never did. The OP will likely need a software update anyway for the iDrive to recognize the iPod but others with recent software updates have been able to plug and play the iPod adapter...
