Hey guys, I did a lot of research and cannot seem to find anything on Ipod interfaces for 2004 E60 (build date 02/2004). Does anyone know if any interface will work on my car, built in Feb/04? If so, what's the part number? Would mObridge work? Which is better BMW interface or mObridge? Thanks guys, I really appreciate your time.

I put a Dension Gateway 500 in my '06 E60 - I also added a blackberry music gateway to the AUX IN of the Dension, which then lets me stream music from my iDevice over a2dp/bluetooth...

Hope this helps...

Thanks guys, I've considered the Dension Gateway 500 but I don't want to spend more than $250 for this mod, if don't have to. I'm speaking with two people right now, one with a mObridge and the other with an OEM Ipod Interface, both around my price range. I just want to make sure one of these is compatible with my car first. I've seen alot of posts on the OEM ipod interface but they are in reference to 05 and up E60's but mine is an 04....build date Feb/04. If anyone knows the part number of the Ipod interface that will work with my car please chime in. Otherwise will mObridge work?

I installed the ipod interface on my previous 04 545 and it worked perfectly, although it did need to be programmed from the dealership. I'll see if I can find a receipt with part# tonight.

I have a 2004 E60 with CCC and I opted for the BMW iPod adapter. The BMW Center did the prerequisites: CCC software upgrade and enabled MP3 decoding. These were included under the terms of the new car warranty. Outside of warranty, these prerequisites could be quite expensive, especially if billed by the hour. It could be quick or requires several hours, depending on how your vehicle and its modules respond to software upgrade. Once the prerequisites are in place, the hardware installation itself and coding is relatively easy. It can be a DIY for those handy with tools and NCS. If your 2004 E60 has not seen a BMW in the past few years, it may still be running older CCC software. My newer CCC sofware has the gray background on the main iDrive menu.

Background color examples (not mine):
