iPod help!?

So today I went to my local audio shop to get a price for a iPod hookup I was told the parts were 600$ and an install is 100$ . This sounds ridicoulous and doesn't sound right. Need some help thanks!

My Ride: 2005 545i Alpine White Premium package, Sport package, Nav, HUD, PDC
I wouldn't consider it "cheap". It's quite pricey if you buy it new, but from what I hear it is worth every penny.
