I added myself too.
Understanding electronics a bit, I can not get rid of the impression BMW is trying to have control over any device pluged into their car. No standard AUX input. Promisses of iPod interface for '05.
My guess is, once Dension interface available you will have to go to your dealer anyway to update iDrive software to accept iPod or any other device.
Let's hope and pray - not .......
