Has anyone tried to use the USB cable supplied (by Apple) with the Ipod in their LCI e60? If so, to what affect?

Just collected my LCI E60 2 weeks back in which I had ordered the I-POD interface and cable in the spec.
Works perfectly. Full control of I-Pod via the I-Drive with all I-POD menus on the I-Drive Screen.
No delay in loading songs either - well worth adding as an extra on an E60 purchase.

Thanks for your response, but I have the Ipod/USB option as my signature indicates, and I have the BMW supplied cable.
My question is specifically regarding trying the Apple supplied USB cable in the e60. Has anyone tried it?

If you use the Apple USB cable you won?t see playlists and won?t be able to play DRM tracks AFAIK. That is what others have posted. I haven?t had a chance to try it like that myself.
J,
My issue is this: I have 2 Ipod Classics. One was purchased after I took delivery of my e60 in April '07. I works perfectly with the BMW Ipod/USB option. I purchased a new Ipod Classic last week. It is the latest generation Ipod Classic, and it will not charge in the car.
Do you have any information on known issues with the latest generation Ipod devices and the BMW Ipod/USB option?
Thanks in advance for your response.

which cable are you using (3 possibilities, namely the original 6FL cable, the new 6FL cable, the Apple USB cable)
I am using the 6FL cable supplied by BMW with my LCI e60. The car delivered in April '07. Is there a newer cable?
