ok, so i got an official ipod adapter installed by BMW so i can listen to music directly from my ipod through idrive interface

the problem is: the idrive interface doesnt show all the music i have on my ipod - it seems like there is some limit to the amount of tracks it can display. first of all, when i have a lot of music there, and sorting by artist only gets me to letter F in the idrive - doesnt show anything after that.

and then i created a huge playlists ('trance', 'rock' etc.) but even when playing playlists idrive sees only first 500 tracks.


am i doing something wrong or is aftermarket ipod adapter just shit combined with idrive ?

 

Thats the correct limit im afraid, first 500 listed then the next 500 will be without names just numbers, I have 5gb on my iPhone 3gs and it
works just fine but only lists the names upto the first 500. I will play all the tracks you have but only lists the names on the first 500.

Says so in the instruction manaul by the way.

 

Dension Gateway will resolve those issues!

what do I need to have Dension Gateway 500 installed? where does it get hooked up?

my BMW adapter is shit, it only shows first 500 tracks which totally sucks.

 

it hooks into the cd changer fiber optic cable. It is a fairly easy install. Do a search..there is a good write up.
