I just got my Ipod Integration kit and love it, but find it very inconvienant to turn it on and off in the glove since it doesnt charge the ipod touch. Just wanted to get some ideas of the other places you guys keep your ipod that is easier than the glove box.

Since the iPod Touch has no more than 32 GB of storage, you can easily find a number of iPod Classics of 30 or 40 GB on craigslist or eBay. Put the iPod in the glove-box and forget about it. Keep the inside of the car clutter free. Most people are surprised to find out they're listening to an iPod in my car. "Where is it?" they ask.

I've been using it that way for about 2 years. I take the iPod out only when parked in extreme heat, or to sync with iTunes. A used iPod Classic would be cheaper and easier than running a cable and installing a dock. Most of the aftermarket docks I see don't hold up to spirited driving anyway.

The dock is better to use with iPhone or iPod Touch, even Nano.

Very nice indeed. Do you have any problems with the iPod flying-off the spec dock when driving aggressively?

What year is your car? I have a 2004 and the Ipod adapter charges my Ipod. I only take it out of the car when I want to add more music or change the play lists. Granted it is a gen 2 or 3 classic. I can confirm that the newer ipod's need to have an Apple approved adapter which is recognized by the Ipod otherwise it will not charge. My 3g Iphone will not charge or even work in my car and BMW stated that it does not have an update or do they have one planed yet. I do know that the Ipod/usb adapter in my 2007 X5 will charge the Iphone but will not work either. I hope this helps.
