Hello All!
Some new news for those of you with/wanting iPod over idrive

I was at the international audio video exhibition here in Berlin and received info from a company called "iceLink". They are building a carkit for the E60/E61 to work with/over the idrive system. They are looking for a release date starting around Oct. this year. Sorry, but I can only confirm this for European area and not U.S.

My Ride: 535d Sport in Carbon Black / high gloss shadow line and beige leather / dark poplar with professional nav, bluetooth phone prep, CD changer, bi-xenon adaptive headlamps, servotronic steering, folding mirrors, heated comfort seats, TV, extended voice control and Logic 7 hifi.

Are you sure the company was not Dension? They have a product called icelink available for lots of vehicles already...

thanks for the post, but this is VERY old info. Dension's been putting this out for a couple of years now, and has delayed the E60, and other MOST systems from BMW repeatedly. I would not count on October, November or any date at this time. Mercedes seems to have the ability, but BMW doesn't appear to want to help in the development of this kit, or others.

Having used Sirius now for about 6 months, I am wondering how much of the IPOD I would really listen to, since Sirius happens to sound great, and have great stations!

Agreed. That's why I had the aux input installed and hardwired my iPod. Dension has been promising to release the IceLinkPlus for a long time now, and has delayed and delayed intro. I'll believe it when I see it.
