ICE

iCruze

Who knows where we are at with ipod in the E60, and I am not talking about aux in. I want a seemless, full integration. When is BMW going to have a cable interface like on the 3 series and x5?

The ICE looks promising, they want $400 bucks for E60 connectivity and it will not be available until Q2. If it works, I will spend the dough.

Hi, first of all I want to say hi to everyone. I am new to this forum as I've just had my 535d for a month.

I was going to put in an AUX IN for my iPod when my salesman said that the proper BMW iPod Adapter will be available soon. And a month later, he just called and he said I should get a call from the servicing manager tomorrow to schedule a fitting time for next week. It will take a few hours to fit the hardware and upto 8 hours for the software upgrade as I was told!? So they would prefer to keep my car overnight to check that everything is working afterwards. He also said that including me there are 3 clients in total waiting for this, and I think we are the guinea pigs as they have the instructions/training but not actually done a fitting before. So fingers crossed. (My dealer is Coopers Thames Ditton, UK)

So it might be worth you asking around the dealers again, though the official BMW solution with specially named playlist is not the most elegant solution in my opinion.

Since 20 dec 2004 I asked my dealer to install Aux Input for i-Pod on my new 535d, but first day available was 17 jan 2005 (worse than dentist appointment).

Today I called my dealer to ask if any news on direct i-Pod interface, such as X5: he said no news.
I confirmed the installation for jan 17.
Anyone knows if it will be available or planned to be available something different than Aux Inp ?

Just lookup the receipt entry, "Supply/Fit ipod Adaptor" and it costed me ?235 inc. VAT. Will get as much info as possible as I proceed, e.g. part number etc.
