Im a newbie here, This forum has definitely helped me make the decision to buy my E60 535d (2006)in the UK
The amount of info here is overwhelming !! However I cant seem to find a DIY post on how to get my iphone vids/satnav/digital speedometer (ideally this http://www.devtoaster.com/products/rev/index.html) on my idrive screen

I have the BMW Ipod connection in the glove compartment fitted by BMW but it only displays the tracks and playlists no video

Is there anyway I can get the existing connection to play video/show whats on my iphone's screen?
Or must it be a whole multimedia interface from scratch?

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I just cant find it

You'll need some sort of multimedia interface module as iDrive by itself will NOT display any video since there is no video input.
As you already discovered the the entertainment portion of iDrive by default is basically a fancy presentation of your audio input.

I've seen a iphone screen projected on the BMW Professional 8.8" , it had the kit Knight rider app on the screen including speedometer , it was done via the Dension Gateway 500 with the A/V adaptor , so you can have reverse camera on the screen as well , movies played from your ipod , iphone as well , but i believe this a/v interface only works with bmw professional 8.8" screen system , I would like to do it but I'm only got the 6.5" business and don't know how difficult its to change and if it interferes with the CIP / Progman software version etc

I have the 8.8" pro nav, I need to a bit of research the dension gateway 500

Look on youtube , i've seen someone post a video of him using dension gateway with a/V module showing he can route video to rear head rests as a seperate source and play video in sync with thwe front one etc , he also showed the iphone screen on the center in dash screen and started the Knighgt rider app etc
