Quick question...will the CIC retrofit with combox and 6NR charge an iPhone 4S? Rather than using the arm rest, I want to use the specdock. I don't know if I should buy the charging kit for it.

Thanks!

I would imagine it has to charge the iphone because it would be a terrible shame and make no sense if it didn't. why do you want to use the spec dock tho?

I just want to use it as a mounting base. I don't want to have to stick my phone in the arm rest nor glove box. Also, I don't want to have messy cables dangling all over the place. The specdock has a mount that goes in the ashtray which gets covered with the ashtray cover when not in use so it leaves a clean look.

Ah agreed.... I got one too I loved the look first time I seen it. But if I get cic assuming it does charge I have no problems leaving my phone in the arm rest. The spec dock now for me just provides a clean wire free way to charge my ipod and also keep it within arms length cuz I have no means of controlling my ipod thru my car as one with cic would.

I got confirmation from Patryk (Patrys) that the phone will charge. Just placed a specdock order.

this is a late reply, but id check out the possibility of it being apples change in power pinouts in their dock connector.
this happened a while back and i had to get a scoshe adapter off amazon to ensure my ipod (same change) charged with my older oem integration kit...
