I am considering this for my next car (E61 530d that has neither IPOD not Bluetooth).

Thanks,

hi there, the icon drive is through the tv menu only. its not like the gateway 500 which uses the cd changer. as for controlling the iphone music, your supposed to press track forward on ccc or steering wheel to activate the idrive controller for use with the iphone, and track backwards to disable. ive not got the icon drive to work with my idrive controller, so cant say how good it actualy is. my car has a tcu unit so i disabled the inbuilt blue tooth, so havent tried the hands free. i do know you get a mic in the box.....

Hmmm - ok. I will wait for others to install to see what the Bluetooth is like. This feature is pretty important to me.

Thanks for the feedback!

I have been reading this thread, but got confused. Dension and Grom are two different products... correct? I was looking at GROM-MST3 for iDrive??? It seems very new in the market, and not many reviews. Anyone tried it yet?
Thanks.

I've purchased the GROM-MST3 for iDrive but having trouble finding someone to install it since I don't have a CD changer isntalled. If you have that, it's plug and play. If not, you have to get it activated and then install the GROM unit. I'm not sure about the Dension units but their images appear to be similar unit to the GROM

Has anyone done a full install of the Icon drive unit yet? Any feedback on usability and quality?

Spedie, is this your car? Do you still have your modmynav ipod multimedia interface connected with functions such as rear camera as well or did you remove this once you got the Icon?
