Anyhow, maybe we can do some cars at the meeting or maybe we can meet up and do it together on both our cars???

Wow - this is one popular retrofit indeed, hope you stocked up Hobi..

It's probably best to make a new thread for ordering/payment details as it may get lost in and amongst all these posts?

I can't wait to get this btw?

Hi IMU

Point taken....I am keeping track of all forum members that have asked for this kit. Most likely I'll get the ordering process on my site sorted out next week. In any case, I have made 20 of the kits already! And waiting for the next batch of switches to arrive from BMW UK.

Anyhow.....the filming is going like the cricket.... rain delay... Managed to get the beginning done before the bad light and rain. Have to wait for tomorrow now.

All the Best

When my wife wants something out of the trunk while the engine is running (and me behind the wheel) it's easy if I could open it up for her.

PLUS! We get an extra button!!! whooohooooo... The more buttons the better!!

Nothing wrong with the remote key at all.... it's just that the interior button was missing and was standard with US/CAN model cars... so why the difference? Also, from Sep 2005 build onwards, all cars have this button. Personally, I found it useful to have the button (like the previous E39 etc..)

Gottya I didn't realise that the key remote doesn't work when in the ignition I take it from your posts that the wiring loom is already in place it just needs connecting to the switch.

KEWL!

YOU'RE DA MAN!

It's pretty amazing, isn't it?

Such a small thing, no trouble to install, not pricey... And BMW has chosen to NOT install it. And what amazes me most is, they don't even know about a retrofit possibility... Accoridng to them it is NOT retrofittable... Probably because they can't make much money with it...

are you sure the more buttons the better ? so you don't like idrive, huh ? btw, i think you can open the trunk from the outside by pulling the inside handle of the trunk above the license plate if the doors are unlocked. so technically you still don't need the button. but it'll definitely help if your wife or you have too many things on your hands and have no hand to open the trunk .
