I know many member out there have retrofitted the M5 Mirrors. What I wanted to know is that when doing the install, is it necessary to unplug the battery from the car or can one just skip that step and continue with the install?

Please include if you did or did not, and how was the out come? ie. any errors from not unplugging the battery terminal from the car?

Thanks!

Talk to member 530da, as many members have purchased new M5 mirrors from him.

you have to go past your door panels which have air bags in them, I would disconnect the battery.

Yep, definitaly unplug the battery. The guy who installed the mirrors for me did not do this. After he was done I got two errors on my display (safety belts and airbag), so I had to go to the dealer to make this right

Why are you thinking about not disconnecting the battery ? .........is it to save time ??
Let me tell you it takes 2 minutes to disconnect the battery, and about 2 hours per side to install the mirrors.

NO BRAINER!! Just disconnect the battery man, and move on.
