Hi guys,

I'm planning on purchasing these 50W HID ballast kits:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CAR-HID-XENON-KIT-H7-H3-H4-H1-hb3-d2r-6000k-12v-50W-55w-/290436276213?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item439f59dff5
My question is, considering they are 50W (and not the standard 35W) would I still need a load resistor to prevent the error codes? I assume that it draws just about the same power (50W) as my halogen H7 bulbs (55W).

Thanks

our MTEC hid kits require no load resistor or error cancelers, but i would recommend staying within 35W

Too much load on the wiring. Could melt...

By too much load do you mean too much power? If it's a 50W ballast, it should use 50W of power (5W less than a 55W halogen globe). Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hid generates more heat per watt compared to halogen.

Yeah don't go that high, that is a good way to melt the wiring loom...it's happened before with some Piaa bulbs on E9x...
go with a different deg K color and polish your light housings is you are worried about not being "bright enough"

if u run 55 watts, i recommend running also relays. Bear in mind your fog lights will be A LOT brighter than the low beams. Running JUST resistor OR capacitor is dangerous and HOT. U need a special capacitor and resistor combo run in series with another. It's hard to explain.

I recommend getting my PURE plug and play HID fogs for $160 shipped. Any color you want.

Thanks

John!
