Hi all,

Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated. I have purchased all items needed for the change of amp and installation of a subwoofer in my E60. However I cannot seem to disconnect the black connector holding all cables on the small original amp. There is some sort of release mechanism but I cannot find it / trigger it etc. Anyway I do not want to pull to hard, risking breaking it.

Could someone who already disconnected it show a pic and/or explain which small plastic parts to press in order to release it?

I am working outside today and it is some 10 degrees Celsius = very cold:-) and all other cables are done, sub installed, amp installed, I just need to connect to the low level input on the original small amp, phew...please help.

Kind regards
Knubblo

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I have already read everything on the topic on this forum and also browsed other forums. I have also made some PM's to Bruce_mirande and received some additional information, however, nowhere is a reference on how to disconnect the connector to the small amp. Normally this is not an issue. I have installed sound equip before but this one sits upside down in my car (difficult reach) and I do not want to pull it to hard, risking damaging it. It would be great to see a pic which shows which plastic parts to press in order to pull it away safely.

Kind regards

The plug has a outer locking mechanism to it that needs to slides out to one side, that will push the connector downwards and out of the amp.
