So I believe I posted this a few weeks ago but now I have a pic to show what I mean. I saw them actually do this today on muscle car TV on tnt. I am wondering if cutting a hole in the wheel well area, right under the cone filter in order to get fresh air from under the wheel well-would help and whether or not there would be any problems you guys could see. It workekd on the chevy they did today. Here is a pic-it would be right in the corner under the cone filter

The secon pic shows where I would cut out-

I wouldn't recommend it, unless you want road grime all up in your intake area. But that?s just me.

Ya that is what I was thinking but I know either dinan-or maybe another brand (gruppe M??) uses the wheel well area to get air but maybe they have some special filters or something. I dont think I will do it but just was curious about the idea in general since it SEEMS like it would be effective but anyway thanks for the input

it seems like you want the "ram air" effect. the gruppe m looks like it grabs the air from behind the kidney grills.

i'm not sure if you'd see any performance increase if you tried to emulate that effect. i mean, your cai already has a heat shield, so the air is cold. with ram air, maybe you'll get some even colder air, but there's no guarantee. probably not worth it, especially if you're just leasing the car like you mentioned in the other thread and don't want to mod it too much.

btw, when you upload pics, press "enter" in the text body after each pic to insert a line, that way you won't have pics layed out horizntally.
