My vote is neither of those wheels. The 166's are too played out. The 172's are just blah and they are a PIA to clean. You should go with the 167's (M6) wheels. They, hands down, look the best of the 3 OEM 19" choices.
+3...Hey Brandy, does this sound familiar? Good luck tomorrow....hope you drive out a winner!

Yeah Richard - you did tell me that! Although I have an idea for you on how to clean them...get your wife's cake batter spatula. Take a square of shammy and put double stick tape on it and wrap it around the spatula and rub it between the bars. How about style 184? Here's a photo from an earlier thread...

I haven't seen a lot of people with these.

Yeah Richard.....
My name's Dave...and no wife.

184's are 18" M wheels, typically used for the M5 or M6 winter setup. As for the spatula and shammy, they make a cloth/sponge wheel tool for cleaning inside of the rims, but it's still not that easy.

are you a dealer? or have a dealer friend?
did you inspect this car beforehand? or know its whereabouts?

We have motorcycle dealerships so we have a m.v. dealer license and so were able to get set up to attend Manheim's auctions. I have not seen the vehicle and am taking on faith that Manheim's extremely detailed condition reports are accurate. I have been told that they are, but am rolling the dice so to speak. I did pull a Carfax on the car which was clean and I also called the dealer who both sold & maintained it and checked out the maintenance record and warranty claims history which were also clean. The car has only had the passenger seat mat sensor recall done & no other warranty work. It is just out of warranty at 50,670k miles, but it's the only car I found equippped the way I wanted, the only that rated above a 4 on a scale of 1-5 on condition (it rated a 4.7), and the price was just too good. The MMR on it (anticipated auction sales price) is only $23,100. I rationalized that if it was going to have ongoing issues it would have had some warranty work prior to this. I hope I'm right! We'll see. Thanks for the input everyone!
