So instead of paying over $1000 Cnd for an ipod kit from BMW, i followed someone else's idea on here.
I bought my car pre-owned, and when i bought it i didnt notice that the actual ashtray was missing. For a long time it bothered me until someone posted on here a cradle for the iphone. I decided to try that idea and this is how it is...
So again, i dont have the ipod connector i just have an FM transmitter.
Basically i just hid the cigarette lighter far back, plugged the transmitter in and set it to a station that 95% on the time has the best reception. I also had a friend carbon fibre it...he could of took a little more time but hey, i cant complain he did it for free.
Oh and again sorry for the poor picture quality, it was done with my blackberry

You are on top of things!! Thanks.

Ok i read everything and i dont even want to try. How much would it cost to pay a member who has done this in their car? obviously i'd ship everything needed, pay for the materials, and pay for the time/effort!! I would really like this piece wrapped in beige vinyl or topped with a piece of bmw wood grain to match. Someone surely wants to make a buck and help a fellow forum member right?
