I bought a pre-LCI 2006 e60 2 months ago and started collecting stuff for in car entertainment.
The car came with M-ASK and HI-FI and what irritated me most was the lack of USB, thought it came with Bluetooth telematics for phone. After various reading on the forums and search, I’ve collected myself the followings since I was a bit clueless about which direction to go
• Full e90 CIC system (CIC + CID + wirring)
• E60 CHAMP – to get the e60 cic faceplate
• F10 NBT without the faceplate
• CIC climate control and faceplate
I also collected a JBL MS8, Pioneer 5-channel amp and another JBL 4 channel amp with Hertz for front doors, Rainbow for underseats, and focals for the rear and center.
Now the time to install and I am still not sure which one to pick.
First about me, I am totally new to BMW though I’ve been wiring and install car audio on my previous subies and Lancers a while back. I have no issue wiring, soldering or tuning sound but when it comes to coding I am completely noob. I chatted with some members here and there and was told the NBT does not exactly fit with e60 electrical system and that issues will arise later on then CIC is my best bet. But with CIC, I know that a number of things involved such as coding, rewiring and even need combox.
Then I think should I just install the CHAMP with MULF2 and sell the rest for peace of mind as they will give me what I need, USB and the existing Bluetooth phone capability. Or even simpler, find a used Dension elsewhere?
Appreciate your advice on this.

In terms of getting the most output for the least financial input I would install the Dension. That will give you USB, Aux, and Bluetooth. You can then add an amplifier and speakers.
