Idrive ccc replacement coding help needed

Default Idrive ccc replacement coding help needed

Just replaced my CCC controller and I have a few issues. I have bimmer tools but Ia am not that familiar with coding. Anyone here that could help me out remotely ?

It should of been plug and play. Are you sure you installed the correct one?

the car the ccc came from was the late model that came with the cic control wheel with the extra buttons. I need to code it for the old controller or install the new style I imagine.

So you upgraded your controller to CIC instead of installing a replacement CCC controller.

No the unit is ccc but the late model ccc came with the more advanced control knob. Long story short the new unit didn’t work with my old control know. Solution was to install the new style control knob. This required re pinning a few wires. All works well now. I was going to just code to the old style knob but that wasn’t going well so I just retrofitted the new controller knob.

Ok I get it. Yours was a 2 pin wire and needed the 4 pin wire setup to work correct? If so you should of had to update CAPPL also.

Nope did this. The cappl was already set up for the better controller. Had to modify my console to fit the larger controller with the buttons.
