I think this says a iPod integration is available!!!!
I talked with my new and improved dealer (the one that isn't going to rape my wallet for the AUX input install) and they said that no dealers in the US have heard of this yet. That BMWNA releases a letter/memo to all the dealers over a month in advance when anything like this is about to happen. So maybe you guys in the UK are lucky and might be getting it. But as for us poor saps in the US, at the very least we aren't going to see it for another month since no such letter/memo has been sent to the dealers yet.
Not to mention, my dealer also informed me that just becuase the UK may have it, doesn't mean that we in the US will ever have it. Although with this adapter, being that iPods are almost a must have, I'm 100% positive that we will see it eventually, whether it's from BMW or someone else who knows. But, until more news appears, the waiting game is back on.

So does anyone have/know any new info about this? Has it been done in the US yet?
Here is the pdf now. Easier to read
I have a sinking feeling that is is not going to be for those with PRO NAV, but just a hunch.

Just spoke to my dealer about this. He wondered how I knew this information because it was supposed to be an internal memo
He then told me that as soon as the memo was released they knew it was wrong and fed this back to BMW AG.
He then looked into my vehicle chassis number and there was no such kit available. He said that it could mean two things, the kit hasn't been released or the kit is not compatible with my car.
I have a new i.e. 1 month old car but it has Prof Nav so maybe the hunch is correct that Prof Nav may not get it.
He told me the same thing happened last week when 2 other people called to ask about this kit.
What's the part number that people have been told for this kit.

I thought I wanted proper integration of my ipod intially, but having looked into it, my feeling is that if you have a lot of stuff on your ipod, an integrated system might not be ideal.
From what I have read you essentially get the option of splitting your songs up into bespoke playlists and controlling forward and reverse from the multifunction controls - I have also read that this system is a bit clunky and slow if you have a lot of data on the ipod (which makes sense).
Unless I can get a system where the idrive controller acts exactly like a clickwheel, with the ipod display on the idrive screen (now that would be good
), then in hindsight I think I'll be happier with my current setup which allows me to easily reach the controls on the ipod while driving.
I can still control the volume from the car controls and the only real downside is that the ipod doesn't pause when the phone rings (obviously volume cuts off automatically), but the ipod has to be paused manually.

Hi guys,
the ipod 5g has outputs for audio and video.
so the most interested is: can the bmw integration of ipod:
1. controls the complete screen as seen on the ipod 5G
2. does this has an video out connection ?
if not this means that this is again something in the middle.
so you buy new stuff and it is only works for a part:
so go with the navtv one and use a cradle.

talked to my dealer about this and sadly it is a mistake. No such adaptor available although the rumours persist of BMW releasing something (yeah probably next millenia) So glad we have a bleeding edge MOST fibre bus in our cars
