They were my #2 choice and I went with the General UHPs ... not sorry because they are a decent performance 'value' tire for my conservative driving style and relatively moderate performing 530xi. If I had a 550 or M-car I'd be more inclined to go with the Pilots.

BTW, if you decide to go with TireRack check out the link in my signature for an additional 4% rebate.
I almost bought the Bridgestone 960 AS Pole Position over Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus but after reading reviews from car & driver & personal recommendation from the store manager, I got the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110. Very cheap but ranked higher than the Bridgestone & some other branded tires in the C&D test.

Thanks to UUronl for the link, it definitely helped a lot. I've been doing much research since last week.

Good luck!

YOU LEFT OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: ARE THEY GOOD TIRES? And pls include your driving style and a reference point (like better than the OEM RFT 050s - well, anything's better than those )

I guess I'll find out. I just ordered it and the tire shop will install it tomorrow. I heard from Nerweezy that his boss's car(I guess that's trinity auto shop president Joe) was driven on a track with the Hankooks on and the race car driver apparently couldn't believe that it was Hankooks. He thought it was a more expensive brand by the way it handle and grips the corners.

Agreed.

But if you get the real Vredestein. They are awesome.

It's so funny how people keep misspelling Vredestein!

As much as they spell your name with the "r".

I have 535xi. I also planning to put General UHP in my next sets. I might do occasional snow driving, (from SF to Reno, Tahoe). General UHP has M+S rating but advised not do drive in low temp. How "hard" it will be for the rubber? People said it just standard warning for all summer tires, basically they are about the same rubber. I am wondering will it really slippery during snow condition over the mountain. How much difference will be if I use other all season tires?
