My Ride: 2005 545i Sport, Premium, Logic 7, Jet Black, Black Leather, M-Aero Kit, 15% (very dark) Tint, Eichbach Lowering Springs, Red Brake Calipers, Radenergie R-10's, Michelin PilotSport2 in 245/35/20 and 285/30/20, Rolled Fenders, and a nifty Graco Baby Car Seat.
Next Up: Xenon fogs, Eisemann Exhaust, iPod Interface, Comfort Seats.
I am getting them in replica 20's (from either ATL/Miro or Moven) with Michelin PS2's (F: 345/35/20 and R: 285/30/20). That set up runs around $3,500.

I am in the same boat with the 18" versus 19" decision in the replica M5s (#166) for a 530i (non-sport package). I have literally been trying to figure this one out for 3 weeks (see my prior posts). Everyone says the 18" tires are much better for comfort. The 18" tires look almost the same as the 17" tires. For me getting rid of the "mixer blade" OEM 530i wheels justifies any change.
I am looking at http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com for the replicas with General Exclaim tires (which are rated very high in TireRack). The cost of the 18" is about $1300 wheels and tires. The 19" is $1600. The wheels come mounted and balanced, so all you have left is to ask your local tire guys to put them on (assuming that there are no tire sensor issues with the 2007). This should not cost more than a tire rotation.
I would love to see comments from those that have driven both the 18" (nonstaggered) and the 19" (staggered) setup. It is all "relative" unless someone has driven both sizes to give a comparison. I would really love to hear from someone who can comment on road noise between the two sizes (do the wheels make the difference, or is it the tires?).
An interesting point on these wheel sizes is speedometer changes. The 18" causes a speedometer showing 60 to really be going 64.
On the other hand, and to my total disbelief, the 19" causes a speedometer showing 60 to really be going 59.

But .... you need to be very very carefull with the 19s as they are very easy to damage through kerbing etc..

Im going for the 19's with no run flats. I cannot seem to find a place where they sell the 19' m6 rims!!
To many people have the 19's, so they cant be that bad!!

If you're going to buy replicas, buy 20's. You'll get the look you really want. 17 to 18 is a waste of money. If your going to 19 replicas, you might as well do 20's with a good tire and not give up anything

Whats a good affordable 20' tire?
Ive seen some that cost like $300-400 a tire, im not willing to spend that much on tires alone...any recomendations?
What rubbing be an issue with the 20's? any other problems maybe with the 20's?

I really like the m5 wheels, but im a sucker for the 5 spokes!! M6 wheels are beautiful to look at, the only thing that kind of confuses me is all the empty space in the rim where you can see the break disc. On top of that, my brake disc is filled with rust every other week...i guess ill be cleaning it more often, which isnt a bad thing.
