E60, E61 Parts, Accessories and Mods Discussion about both stock and aftermarket parts for the E60. Accessories and modifications too!

I have a hunch modding's not over yet...

It does not look like the Foliatec in your pics (which I like a lot) - it looks much less shiny, like plastic or rubber immitation of aluminum... like leatherette in alu look, if that makes any sense. Just does not cut the metal "look".
Hmmm, that's interesting . You could think that they would produce only high quality materials.

Eric went forward with things today...

He wanted to finish the hole in the backrest between the trunk and cockpit. He did, and also wrapped some little things again with CF fabric.

At first he wanted to show how the centre panel in the dash came out:

It's not possible to make very large hole, because the armrest is located a bit higher than a rear seat equipped with a ski port. At first we thought to left it like this, but I hated the dull gray plastic:

The actual backframe needed to be cut too. Here Eric is pushing the piece down after some dremeling:

He agreed with me to cut it some more so that he can access the trunk easily if needed :

Eric wanted to glue some fabric on the front side to hide the black plastic. Here he's waiting the glue to dry:

He was pretty tired at some point...

That came out pretty well:

Finished cover plate. Maybe CF would have looked better but we ran out of it:

In place:

Now what?!

It seems that he likes wrapping stuff...

Go Eric go!

Niiice!

Watch the clips!
