HRE rims rubbing front fenders
#12
i dont think the rear will rub, since it was shaved all the way down. Looking at the rim it tucks under the fender. It's just the front that bothers me. It looks more pushed out that the rear does.

This is the EXACT reason I canceled my order for HRE P40's in 20x9 ET9 and 20x10.5 ET28 as they are HRE's standard M5 offsets. HRE also offers aggressive M5 offsets in 20x9 ET5, 20x10.5 ET22. I talked to HRE on the phone and they specifically told me that the standard M5 offsets would work on my 550. HRE also told me to run 255/30-20 up front and 305/25-20 in the rear. I debated with them that these offsets and tire sizes would not work but HRE ASSURED me that there would be zero fitment issues.
Thank God I listened to vegastrashed, who was the voice of reason and talked me out of buying these wheels because the offsets were no where near correct for the 550i. Thanks to the Gene, Frank, Tony for putting up with my BS PM's, IM's and emails regarding the P40's as well.
Good Luck with dealing with HRE, let us know what you find out.

Just got off the phone with HRE. Pretty good guys that will work with me. There are gonna re-do my wheels to 20x8.5 instead of a 9. Reason being is that the new offset he will do will almost touch the shocks. i dont want that, better off he said is to do a 8.5.

I'm surprised that they were leaning on 8.5 vs 9. There are
other wheel manufacturers who've built 20x9 with the proper
offset for E60 (good fit with no rubbing).

The offset they will be using is 18. I can keep it at a 9, but they said it's really close to the shocks. I know 20x9 will be better with the right offset. Too late to change my mind of the wheels. They got my $$$$ already. Good that they are gonna fix it at no charge.

What's the suggested offset for 20x8.5?
