There have been countless posts about what kind of rims to get. I don't want another one of those. I think rims are a very personal thing. What looks great to me can look like crap to you. All that is important is that everyone's rims look good to them. With that being said what I am interested in is how much will switching to 20's from the stock 525I rims effect my rid? I have an 07 with the standard suspension. Please don't reply that I should buy a 535I or a 545I I know what I have and love my car . I would really like some feedback from people driving on 20's on a daily basis. How rough is the ride?

Rides fine. Nice and smooth. Just have to avoid potholes once in a while.

I would like to know too about this.
If I went from 19" to 20", I really would like to keep the tire sidewall as high as it is in my current tires. For example the front; 245/35. I know this increases the overall diameter of wheel + tire and would require some fender rolling.

So, a question to you guys who have done this (245/35 R19 --> 245/35 R20). Is the ride quality the same, or do you feel the increased mass of the wheel as a more bumpy ride or something?

I believe if I tell you rolling on 20's is not rough, will not completely help you. Very subjective. So I'm going to use this comparison, if you have RFT(run flat tires), and you think it rides just fine, then you'll like the 20's.

I prefer the 20" ride. It's a little more solid to me. My 19" bounce like crazy.

I use my 20's on my e60 that i drive daily. I dont drive it that far but i do get it out every day the weather permits. The ride is decent. If you think its going to be smooth like riding in a big ass boat caddie then your wrong. Its a lot better than you think. Dont be scared, just be more attentive when driving. Smashing into pot holes can bend your rims but even when i have my stock 17's on i dont smash into pot holes. 20's are a great balance between looks and functionality!

That being said i currently have my 20in M6 Style Miros for sale My Fire Sale thread For 20in m6 Style Rims

My experience is with other vehicles, but plus sizes may or may not be a rougher ride. A lot depends on your tires. You might consider UHP A/S as opposed to max. What no one has mentioned so far, is the increased rolling diameter will have a negative impact. More torque is needed to drive wheels with larger rolling diameters. I think this would be pretty small in the case you're considering though. Then there is speedometer error, and a small decrease in fuel economy as your engine work a bit harder. Again all very small. Really not mentioning, but since you asked. If I did 20's, I would go with the extra rubber, but that's me. Good luck!

I will be adding 20's soon and will be going with the fattest tire my sports suspension allows. I don't plan on lowering my ride more then that.
