I should add that if you do get any error messages, it's either because your installed the plug upside down or one of the pins is bent. Just reinstall and make sure the pins are straight.

There's not an aggressive and less aggressive option. It's either for auto or manual. Most people prefer the auto version even on their manual as it's "less sensitive". I have the auto version on my SMG which is technically a manual tranny. I love it. It's only a 5 minute process to remove/install so I usually take it off when I bring it in for service, just in case.
As for the charcoal filters, only US cars have them. Removing them has shown proven power gains. I don't think they're the same as the microfilters though cause I think those are for your ventilation system. Not sure.
And $270 is about right. I organized a group buy through PartsExporter a while back and it was $250 shipped.

Thank you for the information.
I will remove the charcoal filter when I install the K&N filter. Just ordered it online for $48.50 shipped.

Best bang for the buck so far! IMO the SB should be the very first thing to get, no question about it.

Still got in on mine. Installed it about 3mos. after I bought my car. Btw, I imagine the one selling on eBay is also the one who organized it for the E60.net members. Try mentioning that you got the referral from this forum, He may give you the same deal as he did for the group buy. He even offered to sell another one for my wife's Audi A4.

I just installed mine today...WOOHOO!
Best quick little plug in ever. I will say getting it under the carpet was a pain in the ass though.
