Should it be possible to swap the little screen in the center from my original to get the gearshifter to work?

Guys, for the moment the M5 cluster will not work 100% correct on a steptronic. I've seen it work on nicke60gre's car, with a manual transmission no error in the display with regards to transmission, but he gets an error regarding low engine water level. It was probably carried over from the previous M5 it was installed. I think a new one would not have a problem on a SMG/manual.
I'm expecting a warning with regards to transmission when I get mine- but for 199euros, I can live with it - it looks so nice - I wanna have it. Besides I'm planning to up the speed limit (delimit) my car soon, so it'll be great to wander in uncharted territory !

Do you have the steptronic? Please let me know the result, when you have installed your M5 cluster! PM me please!

Yep, steptronic (as per signature!) - I expect the transmission warning...we'll see.
