Hands down, wait and get the 535i. It will be more affordable than the 550 and a lot more tunable. I won't be surprised within the next two years with the 535i blowing 550s, E550s, CLS550s, IS500s, GS460s, M45s, G35s, Z350s, etc.. doors off.
yeah I definitely get the feeling that that may be the case- tuners will tweak the shit out of that turbo i am sure- so yeah maybe I will just wait for the 535i, debadge it and have people sleepin on it

Sucks i gotta wait tho I have this g35 its fast but its an Auto and I really feel like im wasting my life driving it around for the time being; i need a stick- im assuming the 535i will come with stick since the 335i is either manual or step

333hp + ~ 30hp RD complete sports exhaust + 25hp ECU tuning + Dinan high airflow = ~ 400hp.

Andy545 fails to mention that the RD Sport complete exhaust system is about $10K.

My bad- what I mean by 4 second car was really just anything Under 5

Is this possible without a Supercharger you guys think?
Definitely possible. Some Step stockers have done 4.9x's. The key would be the rear, IMO, if your have an SMG or manual and can contol the wheel spin. Otherwise I think that an intake might do the most good--provided that it is not "so contrary" to 545i engine management that if benefits are negated or don't persist. Ignoring the rear, I think that one might get several tenths out of an intake, throttle body, and exhaust combo, but I'd like to see these results produced/implied by a nonmanufacturer using well controlled tests before investing. In principle, ECU tuning would do the joy. But, I feel the same way about chip tuning as I do about intakes, etc.

Personally, I wouldn't touch the 06 Z06 or any highly moded late Z06. It's getting in the Lambo territory. Just an example, last weekend, a black 06 Z06 made me feel like I was standing still at 100 mph roll on the Beltway (early Sunday morning and no other car in sight). VF supercharger will get you 450+ HP, but not in the 550 territory. Otherwise, your drivetrain might twist like a screw.
Hey, B32, no implying that one should fool around with a stock 02 or 04 Z06 either. I think my sig says enough. But, regardless, here is what Lambo territory looks like post the arrival of some new cars. The cars in bold are those that are of particular interest to me. The data are sorted first on 1/4 ET (ascending), second on 0-60 (ascending), and third on TV (decending). Enjoy.

I'm wondering if anybody has sprayed a little nitrous to a 545? Maybe a little 50 or 75hp shot.
