Look's like the sidemarker thing is a quick release shank to stab waster's getting too close!

It's not as bad as you think. I've seen it before, a member from HK has it. Let me go find a picture...

So basically its what the HK member has, but the side markers were slapped on... the painted and installed photos aren't that bad..
