I dunno tbal, your signature says otherwise ... ![Think](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/think.gif)

Well exhaust was mainly for the sound, and look of the quads, performance my butt dyno felt increase, whether thats true or not. Drop in filter, better fuel milage
![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
Performance wise, supercharger would be questionable, than you could say I care about performance

What does being cheap have to do with anything? Im not knocking on RPI or any of the diyers, I am simply stating my opinons. Firstly, Im not intrested in "increasing 4-5 hp" from this mod, imo its a useless mod whether its diy or rpi. Point I am trying to make is, props to the people making their own, and companies are OBVIOUSLY going to knock them down, talk smack and give "facts" on how diy scoops will cause lose in performance . Its not like our cars are 747s going 400km/h that air is going to cause disturbance. Air enters the duct behind the headlight, with the scoop the air is better directed towards the intake. How on earth is a "disturbance" caused whether the scoop is poorly designed? Thats just a gimmick, just like the "tornado" fuel saver thing that goes inside the intake tubes which helps the air move in a proper mannor. The whole system was soon knocked down, as it was complete bs.
I will do a base run, than a run with one or 2 different $2 scoops to prove results will be either the same, or a few hp gain, but highly doubt a decrease. In all fairness, yes you are trying to sell a product, I know RPI is a very ruputable company, again I am not knocking on you or your products. I could careless if tom dick or harry saw the result$$$ of the scoops. I will post non biased results once I can![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)

It kills me to see this kind of stuff though, you are saying it is fake results? Haha, Please race someone with the scoops and see the real world benefits, when air is "forced" into the intake it pressurizes the box and thus more air=more hp rather than just sucking in air from the stock ducts... If the angle is off there WILL be more turbulence and therefore less directed air, the same happens if you remove the front grill because the finns in the grill actually DIRECT the airflow into the scoop... Dinan tried making scoops as well as AFE and guess what? Those were dyno tested and proven 0-Negligeable gains... There is a reason why... I dare you to pony up and buy the scoops from rpi and buy someone else's scoop and dyno... you will be suprised...

As we all know RPI is known for performance vs. cosmetic mods. RPI's good reputation is known throughout the market and I don't think they would simply put out a scoop with doubtful numbers. Their reputation rides on it. We all know what happened with the AFE CAI. Several iterations went through the research and design of the scoop. For someone to simply craft one out of a mud pan or aluminum duct without any numbers to back it up, really irks me. And no, your butt-dyno doesn't count either

This is almost as comical as threads about home made brake cooling ducts. They start off as "my setup is just as good as the $XXX kit" followed by "my rotors cracked from uneven cooling" a few months later.
