Why is there so much drama with this thread. The homemade scoop is a good way to save money, $2 which is about how much the RPI scoops probably cost to make. Nice job Ellicit!.

Talking about popcorns.
the title should be: "The day RPI becomes RIP"
Cast: DIYERS as heroes, Chinese manufacturers as copiers, some RPI lovers who participate in this movie as bootlickers, RPI company as villian.

I agree, an enthusiast will make a lot of stuff or install themselves which is awesome. How many guys did their own custom work and messed it up royally too? I know plenty and I know plenty of bad shops as well.
I know some guys that cant dynomat their cars worth shit either.

Well I don't see the logic in using the mud pan...its flat and doesn't guide the air. All I see is air hitting a flat surface and not being guided torwards the airbox. So to me it looks like you are actually putting less air towards the airbox using the mud pan then not having one.
Now if you really don't care about performance and you want to put it on your car for looks then why paint it black?
I think RPI is just protecting new members from thinking that they can gain HP from a simple mud pan. They have spent the time in R&D to see what the different bends in the scoop will do

It wouldn't have gotten so bad if they didn't start talking crap on RPI.
Wrong, RPI started this drama. go back to page 1 of this thread and read it again.
Ok, enough to me... NEXT!
