SCOOPS + BNC FILTER + EXHAUST = 10-15 whp.... so it states Exhaust is 11 whp do the math.
LOL, RDSport copied RPI's 335 intercooler, and dinan decided to put scoops on their e60m5 CAI after Eloy should the benefits of it... I am not here to knock on you anymore because performance differences will show... BTW I am not trying to hide behind any Screen name... My name is Mychael Hamner or myke951 on some forums such as mfest and m5board and others... You can check my myspace if you want...

Ok Ok I can't take this anymore

The problem was not that you guys wanted to DIY and see if it worked.

The problem was that some of the DIYers made assertive claims that the RPI scoop did "nothing" and that it was just a "gimmick" which is not true and there are PROVEN dynos on this. YOU guys started off by asserting that RPI was out to scam some people because this scoop issue was so simple that a mud pan could do the same thing.

Now some of the DIYers are saying that RPI is scamming people. Based on what? Nothing. Grow up man. A lot of R&D went into the design of the scoops to make sure they performed.

If you want to stick a friggin mud pan in your car go ahead and do it, nobobdy cares. What we do care about is when SOME people state that RPI scoops are "useless" and "a ripoff" when they have nothing to substantiate the claim.

Do you have any evidence that this guy even works for RPI? No you don't. Stop assuming that he does.

I think its awesome that you are trying something out to see what the result is and nobody is trying to stiffle it. What nobody wants to hear or see is that anymore making claims they have no basis for or any evidence.

I don't about the rest but I never compared my DIY scoop to RPI, read all my post in this thread, I basically made a scoop, and yes it was inspired by RPI scoop (DUH) but like said I just made it for fun, do you know how many CAI people have made with products from Homedepot/Autozone? this is basically the same thing. I notice people who have bought the RPI scoop are ripping on my DIY scoop, what?s up with that?

I came across this CF box, lol you know what I'm thinking?

Dinan put the scoops on their M6 after spending thousands of dollars in flow analysis and verifying no additional moisture would make its way in to the combustion chamber. That is what sets Dinan apart from many tuners. They use engineering vs trial and error which also why they take longer to put a part on the market. I'd love to see a 3D flow analysis on a RPI scoop. If it looks legit i'll be the first in line to buy one, other wise, its on my list of novelty purchases like the sprint booster (which i still have not seen any proof of 60' time decreases.)

Its obvious hes on RPI payroll, whatever, shows us how low RPI's gotta stoop to "protect" their product.

Anyways I had enough of this thread. People who like or want the RPI scoop, go for it! People who want to DIY the scoop go for it. Stop the flamming and bs, Praise... I dunno whats gotten into you all of a sudden, military men like you should be calm and disciplined, not immature and act like your someones bitch. (RPI)

Exactly! maybe they already bought RPI crap then saw your DIY and got frustrated. so they put excuses defending RPI.

I may call all the Chinese replica manufacturers to copy the exact design of RPI crap then they can sell it for $5. They can't sue China.

COME ON GUYS! IT IS A PERSONAL DIY! the poster never indented to down RPI.

60-130 times n an e60 m5 have proven the scoops worth... first did a 60-130 on gps verified vbox and then added the scoops and shaved around .3 sec on the same road and same day...

Can you tell me what the standard deviation in time is on multiple 60-130mph runs?
