Looks AWESOME!! How did you make it look so shiny? Did you spray a clear coat on them? I was curious if I could use it on my pillars...........Thanks
Brit_in_NJ, this is a real carbon fiber one. not sticker not fabric. its made of fibers.

the reason i atemped something like this is there is no one that makes carbon fiber work in my country. cf fabric and rezin is not so cheap if you consider shipping + vat . it takes very long time to make it that i prefer to give some one else to do it for me or to buy it if it is sold ready. i saw cf trunk and engine cover on ebay with very good price.

i sand papered is from 150 , 400, 800, 1200 then to 2000. then polished it with wax. then you will have a shiny surface.
then you can give it to body shop for clear coat if you want.

for metal surfaces
1- you should sand paper it well,
2- spay it to black because base coat cannot be aplyed equally on metal then you may see metal shining under cf fabric if fabric is not placed proprly,
3- then apply base coat equally,
rould surfaces are nightmare, very hard to stick on fabric. and there is risk that it will unstuck in time.

Was the carbonmods skinning starter kit enough to complete the inside or did you order more materials?

it is enough for all of them except big part on dash.
if you cut fabric slightly bigger then the part that you will skin you can make more parts. but end of fabric gets mess up easily. so i used larger amounts of fabric to have room to work. i ordered starter kit and 1mt x 1.5 mt fabric which was more then enough.
below photo is dashboard. as you see, you can skin 2 dashboards with the fabric i used

Yes I know it's the real thing you are using, I just meant its cheaper to put the CF on a wheel than buying a wheel made of CF!

Painting it black is a great idea for using it over a metalic surface.

Nice. You should start taking orders. I'm sure a cf wraped engine cover service would look great. A cf trunk tool kit would be off the chain.
Agreed. Members here might be interested in ordering

looks incredible man, how long did that trim take? How much was the total cost for the kit?
I believe he said approximately ~3 days per part.
