I was thumbing through some topics and found one that caught my attention about the lag in the tranny when you take off. Well i never did like that fact that my car has that nasty lag and for a while now i been wanting to purchase a sprint booster but never got around getting one. Anyway, i found out how to reset the transmission and "holy crap" did it make a difference. Its not a sprint booster but it sure does give you a boost thats for sure! Even at down shifting it feels better. I never knew that this simple DIY fix would improve the take off on my car.

For those that dont have the push start button like me, all you have to do is................ turn the key forward until all the accessories turn on but not cranking the engine, then press your foot down on the gas pedal for about 25-30 seconds without letting go. In the newer cars you will hear a noise but in the older models such as my own (2004) you wont hear a thing. Anyway, after about 30 seconds let go and turn the key back in the off position and then crank away and drive. You will/should feel a big difference when you take off like if your in a different car.

For SMG you have to drive 30-60 mph and then pull both paddle shifter towards you for 5 seconds. That will reset the tranny.
