Sorry - not picking on you - but since I know you, I can communicate with you this way
Thanks for picking up the HID fogs from us this week. If you want us to get rid of the message, it's just a $40 resistor pack.
For local folks, we can offer a Lifetime Warranty HID kit for you guys for $325 installed - $50 for install and it's a lifetime warranty.
In order to avoid the error, all you have to do is turn on your parking light, flip the switch for fogs while your key is in position two, then once the fogs are started, turn your car on.
There will be no message. AND, you can drive around with the fogs on all the time as they are lifetime warranty.

Perhaps this is a stupid question - but what is the beam pattern of your HID lamps in the E60/E61 fog lights?
Is it the same as the halogen lamps, or is it different since the lamp & arc shape are different than the halogen filament?
Do you know if it is possible to change the lens to get a narrow (say 15-to-20 degree) beam? I want a supplementary driving light for western roads.

For now, the fog light is freeform which means light scattered freely, correcly if I'm wrong.
Iceman is the first man who will shoot down anyone of you driving with foglight on while there is no fog. , and especially with HID. For me, I don't mind at all as long as the fog light does not blind me.

I agree about not driving with fogs in clear air. Even in fog, I don't think that fog lights are that helpful.
What I was looking for was a long throw, narrow beam light(s) to use in its place of the four light Euro high beams in those very few instances when one is on an empty and straight road. In those circumstances I believe the USA high beams to be inadequate.

It doesn't change anything except the intensity and color of the light (intensity is at least 4X brighter).
