I was looking at getting some HID conversion kits for the fog lights, but it seems like everyone who's tried it gets the warning message. Then I found this site with what seems to be a way to bypass that. If you go to the middle of the site, you can choose to get a bypass for an additional $80. Don't know how they do it, but it sounds good to me. But at $500 it seems way too expensive. I've also never heard of this company before. The cheapest kit I've seen was around $300. Just thought I'd share this and see if anyone is willing to be the first to give it a try.

CarLab has a HID Fogs kit that won't cause the I-Drive warning message and will not strobe either! Their contact information is 650-641-0194 and ask for Darwin.

Freedom, is that the same set up you got for you fog lights? I'm curious as to how the spread pattern is. I know most HID lights have a focused lense.

In thailand, for some reason, the HID kits we get here don't ever show any kind of message. Either you want to install it in the fog or the non xenon high beam, no message. Pretty happy about it. But my experience with the strobing and message on an E46 was to bring it to the dealer and they can settle it for you for about 10 USD and free the second time (lol).

Hi Octo, the installation process is plug and play. I am not sure what color temp it is... But I'm sure CarLab can provide the needed information. I've attached a pic of my E60 w/ HID Fogs and AngeliBright on for reference, they sure looks good together
