I got cheap and replaced my angel eyes with cheap aftermarket ones from a local auto parts store. now i noticed that the connectors have melted. the dealer in charging me 2800 to replaced the entire headlight assembly. can anyone help? what i really need is the harness and i could try replace the damaged ones.. Someone please help!!! I have a 2008 528XI.

+1 Looking for deals is fine (it's what most of us do), but there's a saying in Spanish countries: "What's cheap will cost you" sometimes getting the cheapest turns out way more expensive, stay away from eBay - choose vendors that are known to sell quality, like member Brabusw209amg (John).

Well without seeing the damage my initial reaction would be to just cut the connectors off and splice the wires together with a new (vendor recommended) set of angel eyes. If you really want the connectors you can always try a junk yard and just snip the connectors from a set of headlights and solder the wires together.

I will take pics tomorrow.. its raining in Jersey City, NJ today so I was unable to take pics.. but I am going to try and get connectors from the local auto parts store and splice whatever is left from the existing wires....
I am afraid to upgrade to HID's because if some cheap halogens overheated the wires then what would HID's do?!
Oh and yes, my vehicle has xenon lights..
