Ok so today i decided to install and hid fog kit.. supposed to be plug and play.. but pluged it in.. and it didn't light up. tried it with a small harness it came with and putting + and - to the batt terminal on another car they worked... now im not sure if they didnt work because i need some type of resistor or because the wattage is off to make them work the ballast is 35w and also the bulbs 35w can anyone please chime in and tell me things i can troubleshoot and maybe get thse to turn on. or if these can be made to work thanks.

heres the info on these.
Power consumption: 35watts
Voltage: 85V +/-17V
Luminous flux: 3200
Service Life: up to 3000hrs
Input Voltage: 9V-14V
Working current (Steady state): 3.5 A nom

Resistors are needed to get the hid foglights working. However, I forgot the exact resistors that my mechanic used on my car

If you're able to return the kit, or exchange, change it to a 60W or 50W xenon kit, this will work without the use of resistors. If you're stuck with the 35W kit, you'll have to wait while i visit my xenon guy to ask what are the exact resistors you need to use. I would try 60W 10ohm resistors, but I'm not sure. Note, if you use the wrong resistors, your fuse will be shot at least, and I dono what else could happen, so be patient, I'm trying to contact the xenon guy for you for a couple days now, I saw your thread awhile back, but i still can't get a hold of the guy yet.

hey trboda6, apparently, my guy doesn't know the resistor specs either because all his HID kits are fitted with these resistors in an extra wiring harness especially for BMWs and Mercs. If you have bought some other kit, and need the resistors, he suggest you buy the wiring harness from somewhere, if you really can't find it, I can ship it for you. But I dono if it'll be worth it because the wiring harness is only about 400 baht, whihc is around 12USD, and shipping might be another 20 dollars or so. So its your choice, i'll continue searching for the resistors specs for you. But I'm sure someone can calculate it for you, I just dono how. Try to PM my530i, he might be able to calculate for you.

what brand HID kit is it? Whats the ballast brand? What type of bulb? I recently sold my car, or I would open it up and tell you right away.
