When I reset the aux box the blue LED light flashes Dension lists on Ipod and then says OK to disconnect.
I feel like ripping the blummin thing out too but I feel I have paid so much so far and I want to get ot working.
I am told I don't need a Multi changer in the car just enabling in the software.
does it need mp3 enabling aswell?

Anyway i gave the gateway unit and one final try.. reset it from the aux unit and it worked
well kind off
.. the i-drive changed the tracks and i think playlists but it still displays the tracks as numbers on a carousel like when playing a cd.. doesn't display tracks in menus or texts. Switched the car off and on again and it didn't work.. only works when i reset the unit from the aux adaptor.
I actually feel like ripping the unit out and driving over the damn thing.. not the sensible option i guess. Could someone please help.. where do i go from here????? Do i still need the gateway coded in? I will miss my bluetooth dearly
Regards Shaz......

Not sure if you got this working yet or not, but I had the exact same issue when I installed mine (over the weekend), and I finally figured out the fix yesterday. I had to change the "Source" to be "iPod GW" as opposed to "iPod UI". I'm assuming that "UI" means user interface on the iPod itself, where "GW" obviously means full control via the Dension Gateway. Either way, now that I've made that change everything works as advertised. It is WAAAYYYY better than the BMW manufactured interface!!!

Like on http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=802720 pic #5 ... but not to rain on your parade ... I don't think its the solution ... AFAIK you probably have to get the dealer do enable programming of iPod interface if they can't enable MP3 for the in-dash CD player ... hope I'm wrong ...
