anyone have any thoughts?
here's one....if i were to buy this module you have Bruce, can the button/trigger be hard wired into the lock/unlock mechanism or puddle lights to activate the auto-fold with the locking and unlocking of the door?
i find it surprising that no one in our community has undertaken auto-fold on a 2004 E60....we've gotta have a solution out here right?![](https://5series.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/confused.gif)

I've now forgotten how many times I've told people what to do here. So again
Cut the Yellow and White wires of the fold motor on the M5 mirrors from the ECU.
Now transplant everything from your old mirrors into the M5 mirrors. You will get stuck trying to plug the old harness into the new M5 glass. Here you have two options cut the plugs out of the M5 mirror harness and use it or source yourself a couple of Hirschmann connectors PN 805-187 (my solution).
Extend the Yellow and White wires of the fold motor and bring them out into the plug which has got the most pins and on your mirror you'll see the two slots empty.
p.s. This is exactly what I did to my M5 mirrors when I sold them.

And just extend the power fold wires shite and yellow down to the big ecu in the pre lci doors
I have previously codded power folding mirrors
Are the signals for power fold the same on lci and pre lci that go to the power fold motors
Thanks

Sorry to dig up this old thread but I'm in the middle of installing some m5 replica mirrors. They came with motors, however the driver side mirror motor does not seem to work. I just swapped motors with my OEM mirror and it still doesn't work. I'm guessing it might be because of the wires? My question is if I take out the wires of the old mirror, how do I remove those exactly? Is there any way/diagram to show the wiring into the connectors? Or will I have to cut the wires and then solder them back? I really don't want to do the latter portion. ![Please](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/please.gif)
Edit; nevermind. I discovered that one of the connection wires came loose, all good now.

I would like to read more about that mirror fold module that bruce wrote above...
My car is a pre-lci with M5 pre-lci mirrors so the swap was straight forward (3 wires system). Everything is working except the fold feature that my car didnt came from factory. I even bought a new door panel with the fold button hopping that the car had already a pre-installation for it but had no luck.
